Today technology has taken over and I must admit that I am right in there enjoying it every step of the way.  As much as I love to be able to have information at the tip of my fingers, especially when it comes to this genealogy research, I realize that we have lost almost as much as well have gained. One of those losses is the written letter.

This past week one of our own was taken home. We have to always remember that God loved us first and in deed loves us best. My Uncle Joe Merriweather was ready to go home and drew his last breath on Thursday, March 17th and his body was laid to rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

While visiting the McRae, Lumber City area back in September, I was able to visit the burial site of William and Martha McMillian.  There were quite a few other McMillians and McRaes buried here as well.

The parents of Martha Clark McMillian was Wesley and Kizzie Swain Clark.  In the 1870 census they are listed as 25 years old with three children in the household.  There was Amanda 17, William 6, and Betsey 2/12, which is two months old.

  I have started once again on this genealogy research and as usually I always find something quite interesting. My Great-Grandfather Street Turner Sapp was born in Burke County in Millen, Georgia(1878-1962) but later moved to San Bernadino, California in the 1940s, after raising his children.
